Our latest video installment in Quest of a Con Vendor is a bit different. This time, we're taking a look at running the business and trying to figure out our product line up to create that thing that everyone wants.
You can be going along in your business, watching it grow slowly, especially in retail. You hope people love what you've made and that it becomes a thing they want. And we have our fans and friends, who have loved us from the beginning (THANK YOU!) Then Ted vended at the first Creation Entertainment Supernatural Convention that we could get to in Minneapolis since launching the new Hunter's and Companion's Journals. He was working Minncon and was literally too busy to communicate with me. What was going on?
HE WAS SELLING ALL THE THINGS!
Here is about the only photo he took during the whole show, with the awesome chick who bought our last journal there.
We had saved half of our remaining inventory that I shipped to Seattle so we could go to Vancouver. Hoping we would get lucky enough to sell out again, I flew to Seattle, we went to Felicia Day's signing and then drove up to Vancouver.
To our absolute joy, we sold out again! Faster than the previous weekend at that.
At the end of the show, I was crying and hugging everyone. What a great feeling for us! We have always felt like these journals are a fantastic idea but they were just not hitting people in their hearts. But our new journals? They totally do that!
We are not where we need to be yet, it's still a labor of love. But now more people are sharing that love with us. And it's totally amazing. We have to thank Tracey Gurney for being such a fangirl and creating gorgeous designs that brought our vision to life. In the end, it's all about reaching into the hearts of fellow fans and making something special for them.

Why would you want a Hunter's Journal for your Vancon experience? Because you need a place to capture, protect and show off all of the photo ops, autographs, funny quotes and generally awesome moments you will have there. Here's a look at my journal, but you can do so much with it! Have everyone you meet sign it like a yearbook or just jot down things you want to remember for next time, like where you ate and how you kept organized.

Last night, we took a few new photos of the inside of my Hunter's Journal. Inspired by Supernatural, the journal has pages to stick all of your con momentos from Comic-Con, a Supernatural Convention or any show you go to. Take a look at my pages for some ideas on how to create your own pages. Honestly, it takes me only minutes to do this. We specifically designed these books so you can just grab some double sided tape and a Sharpie to quickly stick your stuff right on the pages! Con*Quest Journals™ Introduces Fandom Inspired Journals
Fangirl artist Tracey Gurney designs Companion and Hunter’s Journals
Indianapolis, IN, May 14, 2015 – Con*Quest Journals™ is proud to announce a new line of fandom based journals designed by fangirl artist Tracey Gurney of TAG Graphics. The first two new releases, the Hunter’s Journal and the Companion’s Journal, will be available for the first time at Phoenix Comicon May 28 to 31 in the Con*Quest Journals booth 15066.
Con*Quest Journals commissioned Tracey to create new interior pages as well as special custom binder covers. The Hunter’s and Companion’s journals, made especially for the capturing attendees’ experiences at cons, are based on two of their shared favorite fandoms and bring a new edge to the Con*Quest Journals product line.
“We wanted to create something special and unique that resonated with our favorite fandoms,” says Shelley Harper, partner at Con*Quest. “We knew that Tracey was just the artist to help us do that because she shares the same love for these shows and brings such an authentic depth to the designs.”
The new journals will each have 20 designed pages to capture quotes, autographs, photos and artwork. They will also contain two protective sleeves and a business card page and be housed in custom created binders. “I am excited to work on something new and I think the con journals are a great idea,” says Tracey. “I created the designs as a fan, for the fans, and I wanted these journals to make a personal connection with them.”
