When you send your product out for review, it’s a bit nerve-racking. It’s a little bit like sending your kids off to school. You love your product and think it’s fantastic, but how will it do out there? Will the people who get it love it as much as you do?
Through a fantastic Twitter exchange, I was introduced to The Mary Sue’s Editor in Chief, Jill Pantozzi. I sent off a journal to Jill and hoped that she liked it. Yesterday the post went live and YAYAYAYYAYA! She said “The creators of Con*Quest Journal sent us one to try out, and while I haven’t been to a convention with it yet, I can highly recommend it for the avid con-goer.”
Read the full post HERE. I’m so happy and proud that one of the most respected geek culture sites has recommended our journal. It makes it even better for me that it’s a site founded on the values of smart women. As a women who was raised by a mother who owned her own small business, and as someone who has marketed toilets, cable, machine tools, and Twilight conventions, it feels awesome to see my baby fly.
It’s our first year at WonderCon and we are so frickin excited! We’ll be in booth 124 with our new Variant cover show exclusive Anaheim 2015 Con*Quest Journals!
We’re in booth 124 by Artist Alley!
Take a closer look at our variant journal! It’s a limited edition printed cover, literally sewn to corrugated cardboard and then bound with rings and canvas. It has 15 con themed pages plus 2 Ultra Pro sleeves and a business card page!
The 3 ring, canvas bound front and back covers are printed on quality paper stock and sewn to corrugated board for a completely handcrafted, unique feel. Our custom long handled tote bag is included in this pre-order!
The inside pages are designed with a burnt paper look and printed on archival quality 80 lb. matte cover stock. Each journal features 14 pages including Autograph Quest, Panel Quest for panel notes and Cosplay Quest to capture the costume contest fun! Two Ultra Pro sleeves are included to keep your photo ops safe, as well as business card page.
We will have extra sleeves, extra pages and of course our deluxe red canvas journals at the show. Plus we’ll have a selection of our One Less Nemesis tees and some exciting merchandise as well.
How do we get all of that crap in our booth? What does the show floor look like before we set up? Where do we eat and why do we gain 10 pounds in Portland?? (we’re looking at you, Killer Burger)
Answers to these burning questions and more are answered in the latest installment of our Quest of a Con Vendor webseries. I bring you episode 2 of 2015: Portland Comic Con.
Take advantage of the fantastic comic and design artists in Artist Alley at pretty much every comic con. Take your journal to one of their tables and ask them to draw an original piece in your book (usually a very nominal fee). Or you can buy one of their small pieces of art, have them autograph the page and stick the art and photo them next to it. This creates your own, one-of-a-kind collectible that no one else will have.
